Many of our hosting customers have their domain names registered with Domain750.
I really need to retire, for medical reasons, and I won't be able to give you the support for your domain name you need. Please transfer your domain name elsewhere BEFORE IT EXPIRES.
It's a pretty simple matter. Simply give Bert $10, and ask him to transfer the domain name. It would have cost you $10 anyhow to renew the name, and when you transfer the domain name, you will get a full year from your expiry date. That is, if you have 6 months to go, you will have 18 months after you do the transfer. It doesn't cost you anything extra, it just requires that you do this ahead of the expiry date.
If you wait until it expires, though, you can't transfer it at that time. You would need to renew it first, and then transfer it. And if you transfer it within 60 days of renewing it, you end up losing that extra year. Ouch.
If you want to go with another company, it would work about the same way. Some companies charge a slightly different price for renewing their own domain names than for transferring other domain names, but it's usually pretty piddling. If you transfer it to Bert, there won't be any interruption in the DNS service, because Bert is affiliated with Public Domain Registry, the same as I was, and you can still have *free* domain name "cloaking". Some outfits charge $8 to $13 annually to conceal your name and address on your domain registration.
Please do NOT allow your domain name to expire, and then renew it with me. As of March 1, I will start be charging $20, not $10, for domain names, because I really don't want your business. If you transfer your domain name before it expires, I won't get a dime - and that's the way it ought to be.
If your domain name is currently "cloaked" and you want to transfer your domain name to anyone OTHER than Bert, you'll need to let me know, so that I know that YOU are trying to transfer your domain name, rather than it being someone else trying to hijack your domain name.
