Site Showcase's blog

Aquarius Moon

Take a look at Aquariusmoon's Social Justice and Spirituality Site. Although mostly devoted to astrology, the site also features her political essays. Be warned if your politics are more right of center, for Aquarius Moon's essays lean more to left wing: Gore, Dean, et.al. Very interesting and thought-provoking!

If politics aren't your thing, there is a page devoted to her Cats.

Her site can also be accessed via her domain name http://www.aquariusmoon.info.

She does some e-commerce on the site, and she would like visitors to order things through the Amazon ads. She also does astrological charts, but the essence of her site is enlightened information and discussion.

The pages are beautifully and tastefully designed, too. :)

Mel-Nor's Kitten Slide Show

Another slide show from our longtime Domania member Mel-Nor. This time it's a collection of cute kitten photos. If you're a cat lover (like me), this show will melt your heart. :)

Mel-Nor's Slide Show: Country School Fire 1942

Mel-Nor does it again with an awesome slide show of photos of a school fire. This happened Winter 1942, and Eleanor was about 9 years old and a student in the school. All children got out safely except one little boy. An older student ran back inside to rescue the child. Both got out just in time before the bell fell behind them.

As you can see in these photos the building was a complete loss but Thank God everyone got out alive.

The slide show is in SHO format so it's viewable in any browser.

Christian Snow Slideshow

A new slide show from Mel-Nor. This time she features vintage Christian-themed postcards, mostly from the Victorian era. Beautiful images!
BTW her daughter in Ames, Iowa sent these lovely cards. :)

Unfortunately, WebTV/MSNTV users will not be able to view as it's Java-based. You will need a PC to view this show.

Fred's HUSKERS 2006

Here's a page for all you college football fans. That is if you're into Nebraska U. :)

Fred's Huskers 2006 is a true fan's page. While I'm not that much a football fan, this page is awesome. Fred lists NU's entire season schedule, and he has links to everything NU: Audio/video, NU's stadium, pages about the coach, et.al.

Fred is retired and makes web pages for fun. He started with WebTV but moved to MSNTV2 broadband. He says the LWB has its limitations but it does the job. He's written several tutorials for MSNTV2 users.

Great site, Fred! :)

Mel_Nor's Slideshow

Mel_Nor's slideshow is nice. Great photos of various subjects: animals, flowers, landscapes. I believe it's javascript-based, but it's very easy on the browser. Photos clip by quickly.

Mel_Nor's Slide Show

She lives in Iowa and winters in Arizona. (As a Hoosier who knows midwestern winters I don't blame her LOL).

Her hobbies include landscape painting and working with stain glass. She is a retired wife of a farmer and has three grown children with four grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

Domania member since February 2005.

Jans Emporium

Jansemporium has tons of pages, and this one tackles a very timely subject: Missing Children. Jan's page lists children currently missing, links to online resources for finding missing and exploited children, and personal sites devoted to the topic.

This page is invaluable as a visitor may recognize a child he/she knows. As a teacher, I consult this page often. One never knows if little Johnny or Jane, the new kid sitting in the back row, is actually a victim of kidnapping or exploitation. Protecting children should be our #1 priority, and Jan's page does just that.

Jacob Vulpine's Funerary Architecture

Jacob Vulpine's Domania-hosted site is a true feast for the eyes. It is a photographic treatise of exquisite funerary architecture, much representative of ancient Egypt.

Jacob has appreciated fine architecture since childhood. His passion for photography served as a catalyst in producing his website.

This site is a joy, and I learned so much that I may use it in a future social studies unit, that is if I get to teach World Civ again!

NOTE: I viewed this site with my PC browser (Internet Explorer 6) as it is not compatiable with WebTV though MSNTV2 users might be able to view it.
